This video is great. A friend showed me this quite some time ago, and normally I wouldn’t post up something this old. But in case anyone out there missed it when it came out, you owe it to yourself to take a look. It doesn’t matter what kinda tunes you’d normally enjoy, this is really killer stuff to inspire anyone learning the electric guitar.
This guy’s got killer chops.. some great alternate picking runs, legato tapping and a bit of sweeping at the end. More than that, he has a great feel for the song, and for building up to the all-out crazy bits with some tasteful playing. You can also tell just by looking at him that he’s really enjoying what he’s playing, and that sense of fun comes out in the music too. Even his tone is pretty great for a youtube vid recorded at home – the notes are bold, clear, articulate and balanced. This is great viewing for anyone out there frustrated with their progress, or feeling like something is holding them back. There’s very little that could hold back your playing like not being able to see the fretboard. But this guy’s all over it. Awesome.
